Forgiveness is a psychological process in which after being violated, the individual's negative recognition, mood and behavioral reflection towards the offenders disappears, while the positive recognition, mood and behavioral reflection appears. Forgiveness is a prosocial behavior, and also an important moral merit. Research showed forgiveness could help the victim eliminate negative mood, improve interpersonal relationships and promote psychological health level. Therefore, it is an issue of high practical significance in campus moral education to activate students'forgiveness consciousness, cultivate their forgiveness merit. This research's aim is to verify the evolutive features of junior middle school students'individual forgiveness, and at the same time, against the actual situation of the junior middle school students, to work out a group counseling program and put it into practice, in order that we can investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of intervention to increase the forgiveness merit of junior middle school students.This research uses methods such as questionaire, experiment, etc. It is divided into two parts:the first one is on the evolutive features of junior middle school students'individual forgiveness, in which a measurement check of 538 students is done, to inspect whether there is discrepancy on gender and age; the second one is an intervention experiment, in this stage, a group counseling program is written and done, 24 subjects is selected and assorted into experiment group and control group. The former 12 subjects is engaged in a 2-month-long group counseling, the latter 12 ones is free with nothing. The independent viariable is the experiment treatment (group counseling), the dependent viariable is forgiveness scores. The pretest, post-test and tracking survey on subjects will show us the effects of group counseling.Comprehending the research, we come to the conclusion as follows:(1) The forgiveness features of the junior middle school students:In gender, females'forgiveness degree is significantly higher than males; In age, there is significantly difference on the forgiveness scores among junior middle school students from different grades,There is a significantly difference between the second grade and other two grades.But no significantly difference between the first grade and the third grade.The second grade is the sensitive point.(2) The is a significant difference between empathy and forgiveness.Empathy can positive predict forgiveness.(3) Group counseling can improve the forgiveness level of junior middle school students.
