Forgiveness has recently been one of the important topics in Positive Psychology research.The study was based on summarizing contents including the concept, philosophical origin, developmental stage, process model, factors of influencing forgiveness and the method to research forgiveness. The study explored the development level of forgiveness by means of questionnaire.Forgiveness can be categorized as high level and low level,and the low level forgiveness works with many different factors. And so the objective of this paper is to find out the forgiveness state of middle school students and to improve the middle school students'forgiveness level by group mental counseling.To attain these goals,this paper is divided into two parts: Research One and Research Two.In order to figure out forgiveness state, to explore the correlation between forgiveness and its influence factors and offer the theoretic warrant for further research, Research One has the students of middle school students from Guangdong as subjects, who were investigated by using the Hearland Forgiveness scale, empathy questionnaire.Then the correlation between them is explored.The conclusion of this part shows as following:1,The forgiveness level of middle school student is high;2,Remarkable difference exists in self-forgiveness level between key-class and ordinary one in Grade Seven;3,Remarkable difference exists in others-forgiveness level between key-class and ordinary one in Grade Eight;4,Remarkable difference exists in forgiveness level between male and female, male'forgiveness level is higher than that of female evidently;5,No remarkable difference exists in forgiveness level between single one children, apology or not, comforts or not, the injury event time, relations with the offender, the injury category, the parents'cultural level;6,Remarkable inverse correlation exists in forgiveness and the negative ponder evidently , empathy and forgiveness is obviously being connected; 7,The regression analysis shows that, The negative ponder and empathy can forecast 16.1% of difference on others- forgiveness together; Both the negative ponder and empathy can forecast 32.1% of difference on self- forgiveness;8,The factors of influence on forgiveness are many, the subjective factors and forgiveness level is remarkable correlation;In order to improve the middle school students'forgiveness level,30 students are included in the counseling group in Research Two,and the time lasts for 3 months with 7 interventions.The conclusion of this part shows as following:The forgiveness level of test group members has been improved in this research. That means this test is effective.
