Chinese traditional culture has an emphasis on the culture of "Qing"(emotion), and so is Chinese philosophy. "Qing"(emotion) always plays an important role in classical Chinese society. As one of the two sources of Chinese philosophy,Taoism is no doubt full of rich theory of "Qing"(emotion).Seeking a root of the matter, I choose the pre-Qin Taoism period as an example. In order to reveal the meaning of the pre-Qin Taoism "Qing"(emotion) as well as the thread to the development of this theory, this period is divided into four steps to study. The first part, mainly discusses Lao-tzu's theory of "Qing" (emotion). Lao-tzu is the founder of Taoism philosophy, and his theory of "Qing"(emotion) has laid a solid foundation for the researchers after him. When he described Tao, he has given it the meaning of "Qing"(emotion), including the nourishes "Qing"(emotion) of Tao, the moving "Qing"(emotion),and the ontological link between Tao and "Qing"(emotion). The "Qing"(emotion) of Tao has following traits, such as fair-minded, non-sentimental, non-hypocritical and so on. The sage who is the ideal personality in Lao-tzu's mind has the same characters with Tao.He carries on "Qing"(emotion) of Tao.The second part, mainly discusses the theory of "Qing" (emotion) in the Warring States Period Bamboo Slips. There are two articles belonging to the Taoism schools and they are "Tai Yi Sheng Shui" and "Heng Xian".they explain that the role "Qing" (emotion) has played of the formation in the universe,The third part, mainly discusses Zhuangzi's theory of Qing(emotion). Zhuangzi appears to be broad-minded uninhibited and to have a cold view of the world. But in fact, he is full of enthusiasm and true feelings to the world. As true "Qing"(emotion) has been hoodwinked, he turned to Tao to search for the true "Qing"(emotion). Finally, he got the freedom of the soul and the true "Qing"(emotion). The fourth part, mainly discusses the theory of "Qing"(emotion) of "Four Classics of Yellow Emperor"."Four Classics of Yellow Emperor" inherited the philosophy of Lao Tzu, it took the Taoism as the core idea, and also absorbed ideas of other philosophers. The book believed that the law was produced by Tao, and we should use the law to ruled the country and "Qing"(emotion) of people. However, it has violated the principle of Tao.
