| Ba Jin is a leading Chinese who makes use of writing and translating alternatively in uttering his voice, as is the case with many other Chinese writers in the first half of the 20th contrary. However, owing to the long bias towards the translated literature, few scholars touch upon the question of translation in their study of Ba Jin, not to mention his translation thought in children's literature, which is the issue this paper tries to address.Ba Jin is the rare translator who devoted a lot to the translation of children's literature. These translations not only are valuable for children but also are useful for the writers of children's literature. Taking The Happy Prince and other Tales translated by Ba Jin as an example the present study explores how Ba Jin transfer the beauty in original text into the target text from these three aspects that are the beauty of language, image and style. Meanwhile, Ba Jin's aesthetic translation thought on children's literature are concluded, and what this paper emphasizes on is how Ba Jin shows his aesthetic thought during translation the children's literature. Then through the study, it is found that during the translation of literature works, the translator should not stop at transmitting the logic information of the source text, but should take the representation of the aesthetic information as its final goal.Lastly, the author hopes that this paper will be helpful for those translators who want to learn more about Ba Jin's translation thoughts and arouse people's interest and attentions to the translation of children's literature. By concluding the experience and lessons in this field, more and better works for children will be presented.
