Exploration And Study On Design Of Barrier-free Facilities In City Bus Station

This paper aims to study the design of bus station in public modern city environment. The author believes that public transportation facility is the material foundation realized by public transportation, which is close to citizens'production life. It is an important foundation based on which city economy and society develop. Barrier-free design doesn't only improve utilization efficiency of public transportation facility, but also embody the level of the society's civilization and progress.This essay extends in six chapters. Chapter one studies on the current situation of China's city bus station and expounds design of barrier-free bus station. Chapter two studies and analyzes the current situation of barrier-free facilities at home and abroad. Chapter three makes an analysis on design study of barrier-free facilities for bus station aiming at physiological feature and behavior feature of disabled group. As an innovation of this paper, Chapter four processes design and exploration mainly in accordance with demands of handicap group on barrier-free facilities in city bus station.This essay is based on barrier-free design, convenience, quick speed and safety of city public bus stations, puts forward barrier-free systematization in the overall planning. It does not provide height difference in bus station sidewalks to make traffic convenient, marks the routes, time of traffic in many ways, offers disabled people information for convenience, provides priority of starting with crossroad indicating device and traffic signal facility in extensive parts of the bus stations. Overall, it proposes to conduct comparative study in different ways, expects to put forward a proposal for design of future barrier-free bus stations, take the users to new applied behavioral mode, to practically realize the theory of "people oriented", let the notions of barrier-design be carried out in every aspects of the facilities in the city bus stations, and let barrier-free design become an "organic part" of the overall system of the society public transport.
