Under the new situation of the economic globalization and China's accession to the WTO, China has been in urgent need of those versatile talent persons who are proficient in both law and English. In China, colleges and universities serve as the main base of talent development. The course of legal English, which is set up for law majors and is the key course to cultivate international law talents, has many problems to be explored and solved, particularly in its teaching mode. Current legal English course is unable to develop qualified international law talents, thus fails to meet the requirements of the times.To understand the status quo of legal English teaching in universities in Chongqing, in chapter 4, the author analyzes the data collected in the forms of questionnaires, interviews and class observations from two universities in Chongqing, to display problems existing in legal English teaching in universities in Chongqing.In chapter 5, on the basis of the problems existing in legal English teaching in universities in Chongqing, the author suggests integrate task-based language teaching into college legal English teaching. This research, based on characteristics of legal English and task-based language teaching, designs a teaching plan for unit 8 of core Course of English for law.
