Xiangxi movies and TV phenomenon has an irreplaceable status in the Chinese film industry, it is apart of the Chinese regional movie. Since the 70s of last century, Xiangxi movies and TV began to emerge, and continued to unfold one after another legend.During this paper:firstly, make the scope of Xiangxi movies and TV. Xiangxi movies and TV is a regional scale for the delineation of the Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture in western Hunan as main background for the story, the shooting take place or places. It can be demonstrated to some extent unique geographical region in Xiangxi cultural landscape, and can embody the spirit of Xiangxi charm, and the character of people in Xiangxi movies and TV's dramas feature. Secondly, this thesis is also sort the history of Xiangxi movies and TV phenomenon. In this article, Xiangxi movies and TV phenomenon was divided into bandit movies and TV series, hero series, adapted series, as well as the other series. Meanwhile, through the text analysis summarized its content and aesthetic characteristics. In content, there were three features:display of national characteristics in Xiangxi region; the expression of humanism and the bandits'dual personality. In the aesthetic characteristics, the works to create a Tragic Beauty and Artistic Conception. In the end, this thesis was also investigating the future of Xiangxi movies and TV; they were deepening the geographical features of Xiangxi movies and TV, creating a "Xiangxi movies and TV" brand and market development.
