| This essay explains the different physiological and psychological factors that contribute to performance anxiety. At the same time, it introduces therapies and techniques that deal with these symptoms, such as the.Systematic Desensitization Therapy, the Alexander Technique, and Aaron T. Beck's Congnitive Therapy, among others. We carried out a research on 30 onstage performers. The performers who volunteered for our research were divided into groups, each of whom underwent a different type of therapy. We gathered data on the patients, before and after the study was carried out. We observed how the patients responded to the different types of therapy and documented it.. After analyzing, comparing and contrasting the data, we concluded that the Congnitive Therapy was overall more comprehensive than the others, the Systematic Desensitization Therapy was the most effective, and the Alexander Technique was the most effective reducing heartbeat rate. The study also revealed the limited nature of these three therapies. This study can certainly be of use. We hope students can learn and benefit from it, and apply some of the techniques explained. |
