Coast resorts is one of the important kinds of tourist destination. Up till now, considerable research on coast resorts mainly deals with the evaluation of tourist resources. However the research on tourist flows and local residents' perception of tourist impacts in coast resorts is relatively limited. Based on lots of on-the-spot investigations and surveys, this thesis studies the characteristics of domestic tourist flows and residents' perception of tourist impacts in coast resorts.The thesis consists of five chapters:In Chapter One, the author firstly makes a summary on the related progress in the area of tourist flows and tourist impacts research both at home and broad. And then, he introduces the research backgrounds, main contents, research methods and the general situation of research area.In Chapter Two, the author makes some study on the demographic characteristics of domestic tourist flows in Sanya City, such as gender, age, educational level, income level.In Chapter Three, the author makes some study on the spatial distribution of domestic tourist markets in Sanya City. Secondly, based on gravity model, he established a spatial potentiality model of tourist flows, which is useful to direct tourist market positioning and marketing. And finally, he makes some analyses of spatial behavior of tourist in Sanya City.In Chapter Four, the author studies the temporal characteristics of domestic tourist flows in Sanya City, laying emphasize on the tourist seasonality. Based on analyzing the characteristics and its causes of seasonality of tourist flows in Sanya City, the author takes Sanya and Mount Huang as examples, tries to compare their differences and similarities of the seasonality of tourist flows between coast resorts and mountain resorts. Some practical countermeasures are put forward to reduce the differences between peak and off-peak seasons on the basis of above research.In Chapter Five, taking Sanya and Haikou as examples, the author makes some study on local residents' perception of economic, socicultural, environmental impacts of tourism and their attitudes to tourism development in coast resorts. And then, he seeks to compare the differences of residents' perception of tourist impacts and their attitudes to tourist development, who are of different demographic characters and have different relation with tourism industry.
