The market-oriented electric power reform with a label of "Separation of generation and transmission, and power pooling" originated in the United Kingdom during 1980s' Many developed countries such as the United States, Western Europe, Australia and Japan took the initiative in the reform process and created various power market In addition some developing countries also started to try their best to benefit from the establishment of power market According to experience of international electric reform, establishing generation-side power market is the prerequisite to bring competition to electric industry and develop a nation-wide power market China started its experimental reform units in Liaoning, Jilin , Heilongjiang , Shandong, Zhejiang, and Shanghai in Jan 2000 The purpose of this paper is to research an integral scheme of power pool bidding for independent power producers (IPP) in the environment of generation-side market in China today The research use artificial fuzzy neural network (FNN) to establish a mathematical model to predict system marginal price of every transaction interval in a dealing day The research also exploits a bidding model in using genetic algorithm (GA) theory to improve the probability of bidding success based on former prediction Finally, a Bidding Ancillary Decision-Making System for IPP has been finished through the integration of the FNN Prediction Model and the GA Bidding Model This thesis provides a whole framework that functions to solve the problem of optimal bidding strategy for IPP in current conditions On the other side the thesis can serve as the essential and firm basis of further theoretical research about establishing a Bidding Decision-Making System including the Real-time Cost Analysis Model for IPP...
