As it is the country's infrastructure that upgrades the service sector, the construction industry plays great role in the development of a nation. In the last two decades, in Ethiopia, many construction projects have been constructed. It is unquestionable that many of them faced serious problems. They have many stumbling blocks from idea initiation to completion.In the first part of this paper, organizations of projects are analyzed. A properly organized project can be said that it has half solved of the problem that will occur. In this part what type of organizational structure to be chosen, human resource condition, planning and project management information systems are diagnosed.In the second part, how to perform a better controlling practice are analyzed. In doing so, the problem that come out of contracting, and ways to minimize or control are properly examined. As many projects are not performed as they were supposed to be done, or they are not completed in accordance to their plans; schedule and cost analysis are investigated in this part.Since construction practice is full of risks, the possible risks that usually occur, method of handling and who (owner or contractor) should take which risk are analyzed in this part. A construction risk management system (CRMS) is also proposed. Finally, based on the analysis in the thesis made conclusion is put forth.
