The thesis is a study on the theory of social justice evoked by the concern of human existence. As regards social justice, the social security system is indispensable as it is one of the most important systems safeguarding the realization of social justice. Approached from the perspective of the social security system and framed in the theoretical analysis of the effective supply of it,,the thesis is a systematic research on social justice, the important moral issue China faces today. The thesis consists of four chapters, which are illustrated and elucidated with logical organization.Chapter One is about "the nature and value orientation of the social security system". The analysis is based on two issues related to the modern social security system, namely its nature and value orientation. A survey of the concept "social security system" in use in different countries reveals that modern social security system is comprehensive, for it not only integrates insurance, subsistence, welfare and allowance, but also embodies security in economy, service and human spirit. In the course of human society, social security has witnessed continuous development in line with the advance of economy. Since the 20th century, it has become one essential part of the industrial society and market economy. From the Age of Philanthropy to the birth and development of poverty program and the modem security system, its process confirms that it aims at the pursuit of humanity and social justice.Chapter Two focuses on "social justice- the philosophical foundation of social security". The concept of justice is elaborated. Centering on the four theories on justice in existence in China today, it illustrates the basic principles of social justice in the society in the social context of present China. Moreover,, the rationality of the existence of social security is analyzed. In the author's view, social justice has justifiable reason to exist in China now as it is being at the initial stage of socialism in the light of both the development of market economy and the homoousion of human beings in terms of nature. The justice principle is deeply rooted in the economic reality of China's construction of modernism.Chapter Three elaborates on " the realization of justice principle and its distance from the ideal." Approached from the philosophical perspective and analyzing on the distance between ideal and reality of the social security system, it proposes that comprehensive reform be implemented on the traditional social security system. The social security system requires that it not only guarantee the justice of people's starting points and fairness of the program but also diminish the injustice in terms of the result. However, restricted by the particular historical condition, the traditional social security system of our country is marked by an absence of justice resulting from the influence of factors, such as the characteristics of agriculture and the basic criteria of collectivism. In actual operation, social justice is under corrosion because of the influence of the systematic division of the urban and rural areas, and the internal systematic division of the city and township. The insufficiency of justice hinders the progress of agricultural products towards commercialization and affects the economic benefits. Meanwhile, in the light of the society in general, it seriously impedes the reasonable migration of the labor force and thus prevents family planning policies from being operated smoothly. Therefore, it is imperative for our country to implement comprehensive reform on the social security system, whatever level it is, within the macro social economic system or the social security system, the sub-branch of the social economic system.Chapter Four centers on " the necessity of establishing value orientation on justice in carrying out reform on the social security system". Three issues are illustrated to present a comparatively systematic analysis of the reform on China's social security system.1. Efficiency priority...
