Village in the city is the particular phenomenon in the process of Chinese urbanization. It has obvious Chinese feature in specific time. In the past few years, some researchers and research institutes have studied this subject. They based these researches on sociology and science of city planning, paying attention to the change of these villages and villagers, the disadvantage, and the reconstruction in these villages. However, the research of this subject, from the angle of economics, based on Chinese urbanization, is lack.This paper, based on the previous research, from the angle of economics, analyzes the phenomenon of village in the city. Through analyzing, it is viewed that village in the city is the particular phenomenon in the process of Chinese urbanization. It is closely linked with acceleration of Chinese urbanization, mass population and labors moving from villages to cities, and Chinese particular systems of population and land management. Development of villages in the city, from the angle of economics, is closed linked with the demand and supply of low-price rent house, development of informal economy, and the labor market in the city. As a special community, there exist problems on planning, architecture, management and security. The generally speaking, on the present developing time, village in the city promotes Chinese urbanization and stabilizes society by providing inhabitancy and living environment for those moving population with low incoming. These should be objective acknowledged and affirmed. According inner requirement of urbanization and city development, the strategy of management and reconstruction must be made.
