This paper is a monographic study on comparative research on national defense education of Sino-US nonmilitary academy. About the comparative research of schools' national defense education, especially the comparative research of national defense education of ordinary higher education, there have not any systematic research treatise published in domestic and abroad so far. The paper makes every effort to deal with the relationship between introducing all-sidely and further investigating properly, uses the theory to combine with practice, history and reality combined together, static analysis to combine with dynamic analysis, the research approach combined with qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, gives top priority to what is the most important, proceeds with several questions to draw a comparative study on national defense education of contemporary Sino-US nonmilitary academy.The paper is divided into 5 chapters. Chapter 1 is the Preface; Chapter 2 reviewing Sino--US history of national defense education respectively and looking forward to their development trend, it also analyzes the legal basis, thought basis, educational theoretical foundation of Sino-US national defense education of nonmilitary academy; Chapter 3 introduces America's current situation and characteristic of how America train military talents, analyses that our country's current situation of military talents' training in nonmilitary academy; Chapter 4 seeing the enlighten by studying America's national defense education in nonmilitary academy and the existing problems of our country's national defense education in nonmilitary academy, it puts forward some countermeasures of national defense education in nonmilitary academy our country carry on in future; Chapter 5 is a conclusion part.Aiming at these current situation as following: the active military officers' academic credentials in PLA of our country are generally not high; the national defense legislates and the system are not perfect enough; the national defense education's fund is insufficient; the mechanism of training military talents is not perfect and the way is not flexible either; the teachers' group of national defense education is small; using the successful experiences of America's national defense education in nonmilitary academy for reference, the paper puts forward many suggestions as follows: our country should fully play the intelligence and scientific and technological comprehensive advantage of nonmilitary academy in future, lighten military academy's pressure of training military talents, economize the expenses of our country's military expenditure, form effective cultivation mechanism and mode, attract more high-quality teachers, Improve teaching and scientific research level, form the dynamic cultivation mechanism, set up and perfect the system of military training, strive for steady capital source of training military talents in nonmilitary academy.Through comparing Sino-US national defense education's characteristic of nonmilitary academy respectively, it announces the basic law of nonmilitary academy's national defense education, tries hard and uses the successful experiences of America's national defense education in nonmilitary academy for reference to probe a better way and3method of national defense education for our country's nonmilitary academy, accelerate the standardization, modernization and scientific process of our country's nonmilitary academy's national defense education, Strengthen arm forces relying on science and technology and realize the modernization of national defense for our country.
