Presently China needs a peaceful and stable international environment,for its foremost mission is the development of economy. Expressions such as "Lips and teeth being interdependent, if the lips are gone,the teeth will be exposed to the cold" are often used by Chinese scholars to describe the special relations between China and korean peninsula.With the changes and developments of international structure,new charactercstics are arising from the special relations between Korean peninsula and China In the 21st century, and thus, China will view and act on that conducive to its own developments.Three parts included:1. A general outline of national securityNational security can be defined as no danger in a nation or no threat to a nation. National security is the cornerstone of the subsistence and development of a nation.No security,no real right of existence.No security,no stability or development.Striving for national security is an endless objective pursued by a nation. And then, why is national security always confronted with miscellaneous threats? The fact is,every nation has its own security strategy.Great powers have built their own distinctive structures of strategy due to the unique geographically strategic advantages of Korean peninsula.2. Influences of Korean peninsula's situation on national security of ChinaDue to its own specialies,the situation of Korean peninsula is most changeful.mainly confronted with the two: division or reunification in peace.Division of Korean peninsula brings more unfavorable effects than favorable ones on China's polilical security,military security,andeconomic Security;contrarily,reunification in peace brings more favorable effects than unfavorable ones on China's political security,military security and economic security.3. China's basic attitude towards the matter of Korean peninsula Chinese government consistently favours that the north and the south of Korean peninsula are the masters of reunification in peace,and oppose any meddling acts of great powers.China hopes Korean peninsula remains peaceful and stable,in favour of reunification in peace through mutual efforts. China are striving to play a constructive role in reunification in peace of Korean peninsula,and tries best to consolidate and develop amicable ties with south korea while maintaining and further enhancing the traditionally friendly exchanges with North korea.
