On Economic Function Of Government In Market Economy

In the 14th National People's Congress, it has been clearly stated that the elementary goal of our country's economic system reform is to establish a socialist market economy system.To realize this goal, it's necessary to transform our government functions, among which economic function plays an extremely important role as a basis of the other functions and a foundation of all government functions. In marker economy, economic function still acts as a significant stimuli of economic development and is a necessary component of market economy as well as a supplement of market function's insufficiency.To put it in a simple way, economic function of government refers to both economic obligations and effects of government. However, in market economy ,it becomes a more complex and systematic project. This essay analyzes the function of both market economy and government; the objectivity of economic function of government in market economy; the general economic function of government and several typical patterns of economic function of government in countries adopting market economy, then it furthers to propose nine economic functions which are especially necessary for our government to possess in the period of system turning and the issues which should be paid special attention and understood correctly while these functions are taking effects, in hope that our socialist market economic pattern could be pushed forward to achieve maturity.
