Study On Enterprise Knowledge Flows In The Innovation System

At present studies on the national innovation system in the world especially concentrate on analyzing knowledge flows. However,more and more scholars study knowledge flows by the "cluster approach" and focus on the close connection of key elements in the national innovation system.By summarizing the new theoretical achievements (cluster approach) of the innovation studies,and using some views of interface management theoryand knowledge management theory,this paper studies systematically on the concept,content,types and levels,etc,of enterprise knowledge flows in the national innovation systems. It discusses the obstacles and their reasons of enterprise knowledge flows in the innovation systems of our country,as well as analyzes through a case study.The approaches of innovation system currently focus more on the macroscopic level,namely,national level than on the intra-enterprise knowledge flows. This paper integrates the macroscopic level with the microcosmic level to study systematically the knowledge flows of intra-enterprise in innovation system. Firstly,it analyzes the characteristic of the knowledge and defines the enterprise knowledge flows as the conversion of enterprise knowledge. Secondly,the paper points out that enterprise knowledge flows can be divided into macroscopic level and microcosmic level. In macroscopic level,they come from inter-organizational knowledge flows,including knowledge flows between the enterprise and universities,institutes,otherenterprises even overseas,respectively. In microcosmic level,they are the intra-enterprise knowledge flows,such as the sharing,creating,shifting and studying to knowledge among the researching and develop department,technological design department,the manufacture department,the supply and marketing department,and inside the departments.According to the above classification,this paper studies the types,content of enterprise knowledge flows,as well as the obstacles and their causes during the flows,which are illustrated by the form of a case. Finally the paper proposes corresponding some measures that will promote enterprise knowledge flows,including the function of the government,enterprises and agencies in the innovation system on effectively promoting knowledge flows.
