| This paper has introduced the theoretical foundation of software improvement process . What has been especially described is the basic thought and frame of the software capability maturity model . There are also some simple comparisons with other theories . The software process improvement of Legend corporation has been introduced . On the basis of analyzing the concrete case , one kind of proposal is given to improve the software process of domestic software enterprises . This scheme is supported by level 2 and 3 of software capability maturity model and merits of some other theories . It can be regarded as one kind of reference of software process improvement.
