The Study In System Of Environmental Trade Of WTO And The Contradiction Between Environment And Trade In China

The problem and contradiction between environment and trade have been exiting at the beginning of production and exchange in our human society. With the globalization of economy and rapid development of international trade, this contradiction becomes more serious than before. So the problem of environment is listed in the agenda by almost all of governments in the world now and at the same time, the movement of protecting the environment has very important effect on the international trade.The ecosystem of China is very weak. So there is a great deep gap between China and other advanced countries in the management and consciousness of environment. As result, the surge up of environment protection and green rampart for international trade hampers the sustainable and fast development of international trade in China. Now, China has been a member of WTO. So how to utilize the rules of WTO and adjust the strategy for international trade in the future to reduce or erase the international rampart aroused by environment is the key to improve our competition of environmental trade and achieve the harmony development between trade and environment after we entered into WTO. The motive of this treatise is to explore and solve this problem, especially for China.This paper is divided into five chapters: The first chapter recalls the background and focus in the problem between trade and environment. In second chapter, the paper discusses the theoretical relationship between trade and environment from the point of view of environmental economy. The third chapter studies the system of WTO environment and trade. The fourth chapter is the main part in this paper. In this part, I collect some data and analyze the effect of the trade's development in China by some econometrics methods and tools. After the exploration of above four chapters and considering the situation in China, The last chapter discusses the methods to solve the contradiction between trade and environment in China. The paper gives some suggestions from the point of view of macro and micro aspects.
