As deepening of china's reform and gradually opening of hotel market, foreign larger hotel groups, especially economic hotel groups, launched into our country, which brought great changes to competitive structure of china hotels, resulting internationalization of domestic market and internalization of international competitiveness. Now, most china hotels are single and dispersed and thus they have neither scale economic advantages nor brand dominance to struggle with foreign hotel groups. Confronted with various challenges, collectivization or strategic alliance is a feasible approach to our single hotels. Considering the complexity of ascription in property right and the difficulty of trade on it, compared with M&A and collectivization, china hotels should adopt strategic alliance as a viable choice to gain competitive advantage.Combined with positive research and normative analysis, present status of our hotels and questions in them are firstly investigated through analysis on large numbers of data. And then development trends of strategic alliance in hotel enterprises are detailed discussed and motivations of strategic alliance are proposed based on characteristics of hotel enterprises and their inherent requirements. Also different models which strategic alliance of china hotels could adopt are given in the light of strategic alliance cases in oversees and domestic hotel enterprises. Finally, construction model of strategic alliance is built, and as the key factors in alliance establishment: selecting alliance partner, negotiating, developing alliance vision and systematically managing on alliance are introduced in this paper.This paper pertains to basic application research consisting of both theoretical contribution and practical meaning. The former focuses on building a new theoretical framework of forming strategic alliance in china hotel enterprises, enriching theories of strategic alliance, and positively discussing strategic alliance theory in hotel enterprises. The later resides in bringing forward feasible approach to construct strategic alliance of hotel enterprises based on practices of china hotels.
