To be successful in this globally competitive , rapid changing environment , organization must formulate strategic plans that are consistent with their investment in and use of manufacturing technology . This study proposes that organizations that invest in advanced manufacturing technology will have improved quality of product and better performance than firms that do not. In order to verify these arguments , the questionnaire survey is widely employed in this paper. First, after checking the international and domestic documents , the valuable measures for AMT, QP and LOP are summarised. With five-point Likert scale, the elementary scales are generated. Therefore, with the survey consist of the elementary scales , the pilot study is carried out. Through the results from the pilot study , the scales of AMT,QP and LOP are rectified and modified. The reliability and validity of the survey are improved. Then, the large-sample survey is proceeded. Using the result from a large-sample survey, this study develops valid and reliable measures of advanced manufacturing technology as well as quality of product . The results of AMOS show that the relationships between Chongqing manufacturing firm's practices in AMT and its quality of the product are formed to be statistically significant but not positive. Also, high levels of the quality of the product lead to high levels of performance as measured by customer satisfaction and marketing performance .It is no doubt that the research results will propel the wide use of the empirical research in the enterprises operations management .Furthermore,it will provide the reference guide for the relative research.
