Since theoretical economists began to study copyright and copying in 1934, more and more economists have been interested in the economics on copyright. And law and economics on copyright became a very important part of law and economics. In this paper, by reviewing all economics theory on copyright from 1934, the writer find out a clue of the development in this fields and point out the possible tendency of the development on the basis of that.What should be protected by copyright? This problem is that the treatise tries to study. Trying to define the extent of protection of copyright gives rise to a paradox concerning the total root of copyright law. There's settlement on this problem in jurisprudence. But the settlement isn't rational and practical. So this treatise along with Coase's idea solves this paradox again and applies this analysis method to the law remedy.
