| This thesis, based on a survey on the physique, socio-psychological factor and life style of the scientific and technical staff of nine scientific institutes of Shanxi province, makes an investigation on the health condition of the scientific and technical staff of our province, by applying the methods of inquiry, measure and documentation etc. The results show that 79% of Shanxi's scientific and technical staff feel, more or less, some problems in their physical mechanism, which proves that their constitution is rather low compared with the average level of Taiyuan's adult and possesses some obvious professional features. Furthermore, the staffs discomforts in mechanism are mainly related with socio-psychological factors. Whether they are active or not would result in a significant difference in their feeling of mechanism. The influence of sports to the scientific and technical staff is mainly shown in psychological aspect, for those who take part in sports activities are quite superior in mental state to those who do not Although their life habits are quite wholesome, the bodybuilding effect of physical activity, due to their unscientific participation in sports, is not great. Therefore, according to the above problems, this thesis puts forward some specific solutions and measures for our province's scientific staff to improve their health condition.. All these attempt to set up a healthy notion taking it as a lead to enhance the awareness of bodybuilding and to iprove the staff's health. A system must be established as a guarantee, and an extensive propaganda and mobicization muat also be made. Together with the actual implementation of the above measures, the education about health of those potential scientific and technological staff should also be strengthened.
