Community Integration In Tourism--An Example Of Longtan Village In Tuanjie, Kunming

Integrity refers to an ideal state produced by certain activity in a certain space, in which, the activity integrated with the society, economy, culture and environment of the space and comes into being as a whole whose activities will be positively promoted under the ideal state. With the guide of the model of Community Integration in Tourism done by Mitchell, the paper focuses a research of the tourism planning and management of Longtang Village situated in Tuanjie Xiang of Kunming. It is believed that the model can provide a guide service for the planning, management, study and assessment of the community tourism development projects. By a study of the decision making structure and processes, local power, employing types and distribution, numbers of local people working in tourism, it can be judged if the community integrates with tourism. After a field research of those elements in Longtan Village, the paper then makes an analysis combining the model of community integration in tourism. It is revealed that the high participation of local community in tourism can bring benefits to most people of the community.The paper is divided into four parts. In the first part, the significance of the research is introduced, followed by a literary research. Second is a part of theoretical study, in which it is thought that humanism, sustainable development and stakeholder theories are the theory basis of the research. The model by Mitchell is introduced in this part. The paper lays great emphasis on the third part, the case study part, where it is described the field research results of the decision making structure and processes, local power, employing types and distribution, numbers of local people working in tourism. In the final part, according to the results of the preceding part, conclusion of the research is made.
