From Moral Silence To Responsibility Consciousness

Enterprises in different times or at different developmental phases meet with different problems. Since enterprise value has been evolved from "profit maximization" to "commissioned operation and benefit coordination" then to the "harmonization of economic benefit and social responsibility", up to today, power of morality in cultural construction of enterprises has becoming more and more important. However, it is very regretful that "moral silence" in modern enterprise management is still widespread and it is. still a long to go for "responsibility consciousness" of entrepreneurs that directly influences decision-making of enterprises to become conscious management behavior of enterprises. This kind of current situation of enterprise morality can hardly fit in with the needs of the trend of globalization and nationalization of enterprises development nowadays."Moral silence" here is a referential concept, which is used to analyze, criticize and generalize the current situation of enterprise morality. This thesis dissects the causes of "moral silence" in enterprises from the perspectives of enterprise, the public and society, looks back upon the history of the assessment standards evolution of enterprise performance by employing the modern theory of enterprise performance as the "clue", and puts forward the workable way to the construction of modern enterprise morality, that is "from moral silence to responsibility consciousness".
