In the face of the new century, the market competition becomes more and more fierce with the quickening and deepening of the process of integration of global economy. At the same time, the development of economic skill offers more and more market chances to enterprises too. How enterprises try to get surviving and developing in the market competition is the question that the business and theory circles are considering earnestly all the time.The theory of The Core Competence of the Corporation is a theoretical result due to the interaction of economics and management. It has been widely concerned by management theorists and practitioners. The Core Competence of the Corporation is an interior competent resource melted in the corporation endocarp and held by the corporation uniquely, which can bring customer special use and make the corporation keep long competitive advantage. It mostly involves competence of corporation exploiting unique production, developing unique technology and inventing unique distribution means.Many companies have recognized one fact: technology and innovation must be managed, and its core competence has to be strengthened. But the question is, how?A lot of transnational Hi- Tech enterprises, especially in communication and information technology fields have already fully realized the importance of enterprise's core competence. They have changed their company strategies to focus on the core competence, and expect to keep their companies developing continuously and steadily on the basis of core competence. Enterprises in China, especially non-state-owned small and medium-sized Hi- Tech enterprises, have a lot of problems still, for example capital shortage, market competition power weak, technological reserve deficiency, a large amount talent running off. With the swift development of global economy, domestic enterprises must consider some such questions now: how to correctly analyze competitive environment, how to set up own core competence effectively, how to establish own competition advantages in market economy. I think these enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises based on Hi-Tech must fully realize the importance of enterprise's core competence.This article analyses the inside and outside source of enterprise's competitiveness at first. Then it analyses the key competitiveness characteristics and form elements, and draw the general strategic model of enterprise. This model can help enterprises construct andfoster their core competence. With the case of SDA Corp. in Chengdu, the article studies the company how to construct own core competence in corporate culture, technological innovation mechanism and marketing information system. I hope the result of the article may have the reference value of establishing and fostering enterprise's core competence and competition advantages. It will have more important value to the similar non-state-owned Hi-Tech small and medium-sized enterprises.
