In recent years, with continuous development of China economy andcars entry family, The domestic automotive market develop so fast; at thesame time, Global auto makers start extend their business field and increasetheir competitive,In order to keep the steps with increasingly developingcustomers expectation, The auto parts suppliers also adjust their strategy tooffer quick reaction for OEM's new car programs and new models year.Under this circumstance, Lear China Co., Ltd(LCCL) implement it advancedprogram management process in its joint ventures, The current joint venturehave some serious concerns: less planning,no process, undistinguishedresponsibilities and so on, LCCL is using the Lear Program ManagementProcess( LPMP) to do the process reengineering and build an excellentprocess, and make the program timing, program cost and product quantityunder well control to meet with or even exceed the customers expectation. LPMP include five phases: Planning phase, Prototype phase, Pilot phase,Launch phase and Post launch phase. Planning phase begins with the identification of activities required topursue a new business award. The planning phase is designed to assure thatthe customer needs and expectations are clearly understood and thatadvanced planning activities are performed to ensure both customer and Learobjectives will be met. This phase concludes with the completion of allPlanning Phase Deliverables and report out through the first ManagementGateway Review. In the prototype phase the first design to support a deliverable to thecustomer is developed and released. Typically, there are several prototype 49product builds within this phase and the product design matures with eachprototype build ultimately resulting in release of a production intent design.Planning for the production manufacturing process evolves in a similarmanner including identification of tooling and equipment requirements. Sincemost customers conduct several prototype builds, the deliverables identifiedin this phase may be accomplished several times as required to meet theprograms needs. The program team will determine the appropriaterequirements and document this in the project plan. This phase concludeswith the completion of all Prototype Phase deliverables, formal report out inthe Management Gateway Review on progress, risk and performance toobjectives, and delivery of all products to support customer prototype buildrequirements. The launch phase is designed to ensure readiness for full production. The full compliment of tooling and equipment is in place and validated. Theproduct design should be stable throughout this phase with the exception ofany modifications required to address PV test issues or customer mandated 50changes. Lear manufacturing plants begin production to ramp up toward fullproduction rates and the phase culminates in the formal start of production atthe customer assemb...
