First, This paper state the theory of competitive strategy, including three basic competitive strategies and the methods of environment analyzing and strategy making. Next, I analyze deeply the macroscopic and microscopic environment of Chongqing hot rolled steel sheet market. On the basis of above, I research and find the market structure of Chongqing hot rolled steel sheet market. Then I make a comprehensive analysis of W group and its hot rolled steel products. Following above, I analyze the two main rivals and the present competitive situation of W group in Chongqing market. As the conclusion of those analysis ,I give out two piece of advice about the competitive strategy of W group by the means of SWOT .In the end, I state simply the implement and effect of the two selected strategy.Major study achievement of this paper:To research the competitive strategy ,we must analyze the competitive situation in which those enterprises have to face everyday. We know It is representative oligopoly structure in Chongqing hot rolled steel sheet market after our analyzing the market structure.In the traditional theory of oligopoly structure, especially for the iron and steel industry, how to select strategy to those enterprises who stay "in the middle of competitive position"? I pointed out the competitive strategy of W group through the comprehensive analysis of competition environment and W group and its products.There are many ways to realize the differentiation strategy, including by product, by sale channel, by service and by skill and technology, etc. I select sale channel differentiation.Same above, there are many ways to realize the focus strategy: product lines, market field, customers, etc. It is selected in this paper to aim at customers.Many local enterprises, especially those who have a long history, they have been deep touching the fierce market competition, but they know few how to make use of the opportunity of environment and their strength and how to avoid the threaten of environment and their own weakness. This paper could be an effective reference.
