Since 2002, Chinese domestic Iron and steel market has been facing a strong demand which in consequence stimulated another round of investment wave in steel industry. In spite of the excellent performances made by most of the steel companies, a calm attention to the threats and weakness faced with in that course is necessary.Taking example for Laiwu Iron & steel Group, this article strategically discusses the external opportunities and threats and the internal strengths and weakness of the company, analyzes the company's competition strategy and gives out a solution to realize its strategic objective.This article is composed of four parts besides the introduction and the epilogue. The first part analyzes the status of iron industry in global competition including the analysis to the pattern of world and domestic steel industry, the status quo of steel market and the future of steel industries; The second part introduces the growing history and the present status of the company, performs a SWOT analysis to find the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats; The third part discusses the competitive environment the company faces and the competition strategy the company adopts; In The fourth part, I give my own opinion as to how to enhance the company's competency and realize its strategic objective.
