The globalization of economy and tourism brings China tourism industry challenges as well as opportunities. The China tourism industry is playing a more and more important role in the world. The enormous and growing needs for travel are the reasons why foreign capitals want to be involved in China travel agency industry.The dissertation totally studies theories concerning about strategy management Based on the fact that the Merger and Acquisition (M&A) strategy comes from the corporate strategy, the dissertation defines theories of the corporate strategy, and analyzes the connection of the corporate strategy, the integration strategy and the M&A strategy. It states the value and the risk when a corporate conducts its international strategy. It folly analyzes benefits of Merger and Acquisition to enterprises as an international strategy. Through founding a model for analyzing the international competitive capacity of tourism industry, the dissertation enumerates six critical factors that affect the international competitive capacity of tourism industry.In chapter 3, the dissertation studies the environment of Chinese tourism industry focusing on the development situation of the entry travel market, the domestic travel market and the expatriate travel market. It also discusses the political and economical factors that affect China travel agency industry, including the changes of policies, laws and regulations and the opportunities and rivals brought by China joining the World Trade Organization.In chapter 4, the dissertation presents motivations that foreign capitals want to launch themselves into China travel agency industry because of its vertical position in tourism industry chain. And it analyzes the objective positioning as well. A case of strategy studying on a foreign travel company that is launching itself into Chinese travel agency industry is put in chapter 5. Comparing with several pattern alternatives, the dissertation draws the conclusion that the M&A strategy should be the first choice if foreign capitals want to be involved in China tourism industry. It further studies the problems involving the M&A strategy such as the approaches, the time, the objective positioning and so on. Combining with the researches on the M&A theories, it designs a clear plan, offering practical solution for other travel enterprises.The dissertation uses those theories and research approaches, including strategymanagement, tourism economics and industry economics, to analyze and study the environment of the company. The dissertation not only offers practical solution to foreign capitals to get involve China travel agency industry, but also provides another thinking way and approach for our travel agencies to confront with threats.
