Study On Development Stratagem Facing WTO For Construction Industry In China

China became the member of the WTO, dec. 10.2001. It meant that China became one of the important members of the world trading family ; at the same time, all kinds of business in China will meet chances and challenges which was brought about by the entry of the WTO. Construction industry is one of the main industries in national economy. So it is very important to study on construction development stratagem since China's entry of the WTO.In order to accelerate the development of construction industry and to adapt running rules of world economy.This article introduces systematically basic principle running way of the WTO and GATS and some basic knowledge of the Chinese government's promises on construction industry. The article also discusses the actuality and existing problems of the construction industry in our country, and reflects the distance in construction industry between China and other countries through the analyzing the actuality and comparing the differences on organization management market access, quality control, industry rules and standards > and the entry of international market between China and other countries. On base of the above, this article analyzes and studies on the chances and challenges for construction industry in China facing the rules of the WTO. It discusses seven aspects: work mode, item management, native protection, industry building, mass construction, act system, entry into world market. It also studies on long-term and short-term stratagems for the construction industry in China facing the WTO.The result shows there are more chances than challenges for construction industry since the entry of the WTO. In the following years, it is probable that there will be more competition. But in the future, it will help standardize China's construction market and accelerate the development of across-countries business in Chinese construction companies. We should study on market environment constantly and promote the industry reform to improve the competition of the companies and take chances to make greater development.
