The Current Situation Of Agricultural Extension System And Its Countermeasures In P.R. China

In the light of new situation of China's entry into WTO and the construction of high level well-off society, in order to carry out agricultural extension more efficiently, this paper discusses extensively the main factors restricting extension system construction by analyzing development process of agricultural extension system, operation mechanism and the new features of agricultural extension system in recent years. It also debates some relevant problems including the advisory service, farmers' association and land property right by comprehensive analysis of lots of investigation data and referring to research achievements obtained from home and abroad as well. On the basis of present agricultural extension system and persevering in the structural adjustment to agricultural industry, the production of food security should be ensured; The emphasis of agricultural extension varies with the economic level in local areas, i.e., in developed areas the advisory service should be strengthened and standardized; The extension staff should play an important role in farmers' association and pay more attention to sex differentia in communication with farmers and find a suitable way to join farmers' association to work more efficiently. In addition, policy environment, financial support and innovation of agricultural extension system are also discussed here to provide theoretical basis and practical support for agricultural extension system in P. R. China to reach perfection.
