| There're many problems existing in present cultivation purposes for police colleges, and unfortunately, academic research about it is still very insufficient, thus the present research is not so satisfactory for the self-perfection of the cultivation purposes in police colleges to provide enough theorectical support. Therefore, the research about the subject has great theorectical and realistic significance. This research based on Marxist outlook and methodology, comprehensively uses such approaches as bibliographical analysis, comparative research, investigation, case analysis and logical analysis. Specifically speaking, the research discovers and analyses the major problems as well as the reasonable aspects of the present cultivation purposes. Then according to the relatively in-depth theorectical exploration and investigation about the cultivation purposes, the research establishes a relatively perfect cultivation purpose system, meanwile, it puts forward some basic measures that can make the cultivation purpose system fulfilled.The thesis is composed of six parts:Part One ,Introduction, mainly elaborates the research objects, its content, purpose and its oringinal aspects as well as its thinking and approaches.Part Two is concerned with historical exploration and present-day analysis is about cultivation purposes for police colleges. The development process for police colleges' cultivation purpose had two phases: phase One was the roughly establised stage for cultivalion purposes from reform and open policy to the middle of eighties ofthe 20th century. Phase Two is the exploration and debate stage from the middle of eighties until now. The thesis has a rough description and analysis about the two phases' cultivation purposes. And it also puts an emphasis on the analysis of the present purposes. In the mean time, this part has a positive view about the reasonable aspects of the present cultivation purposes, however it analyses some problems and causes for them.Part Three provides and elaborates the basis for establishing present new cultivation purpose system of police colleges. The basis or foundations are as follows:firstly, the proper educationally-centred value, namely, keeping national interest first, serving the people whole-heartedly, being human-minded ,in addition, two principles of unity and surpassing are put forward. Secondly, Marxist overall development theory about human beings. Thirdly, socialist educational purposes in our country. Fourthly, the requirements for people's policemen according to people's policemen Law of PRC. Fifthly, new requirements for policemen and the probabilities in new era. Sixthly, the features for students' physical and psychological development in police colleges.Part Four is about the investigation research for establishing cultivation purpose system in police colleges in new era. The research in this part compiled a questionaire containing 73 questions.791 examinees in 21 cities or districts from Sichuan and Chongqing took part in the questionaire. All of the examiness are from different educational backgrounds, and also at different age groups in different professions. The result of the investigation is arranged and handled by means of SPSS. The data in the questionaire is analysed according to its elements and the average is checked up. And there is analysis about the difference of requirements for police colleges' cultivation purposes concerning different districts, different educational backgrounds, different ages, different positions, different sexes and different professions. There's also analysis about the importance and sequence of the different factors influencing cultivation purposes. Fortunately, the result of the investigation tallies with our initial assumption, and thus 12 conclusions are made after that.Part Five deals with the summary analysis about the components for police colleges' cultivation purposes in new era in china, and the purpose is to cultivate ourstudents to be capable and overall policemen who know policin...
