| After cold war, a notable change in international relations is economic globalization. The position of economic factor rises increasingly in international relation. One form of this change is the role of non-nation act represented by transnational corporations is increasing; especially with the rapid development of economic globalization, transnational corporation acts more and more important role in the world economy. Therefore, it has certain realistic meaning to put transnational corporation into international relations to study. This paper attempts to explain transnational corporation from its concept, the developing stage and characteristic, discusses the relations between transnational corporation and country, and sets down the role in international relations. Apart from the preface and the conclusion, it has three parts. Specific frames are as follows: The first section introduces mainly the concept and the new feature of transnational corporations after cold war, and the developing history. The trade of the United Nations with development committee in " world investment report " delimits transnational corporations as the joint stock company that forms by parent company and its foreign branch or not joint stock company. Transnational corporations appeared in the late of 19 century, and before the First World War it develops rapidly for the first time. In the durations between World War I and World War II, because of many factors such as war and economic crisis, make the development of transnational corporations fallen into deep valley. After the Second World War, transnational corporations have entered the period of high-speed development. After cold war, it has become the major carrier of economic globalization, appeared new condition, taking over and purchasing occurred between transnational corporations. It is getting more and more complex when the scope of transnational corporation and its business are extensively, and arises global transnational corporation. The second part is major to have compared the position of country with transnational corporation in the international relations, elaborate the power source, analyses the real relationships between transnational corporation and country. The author thinks: First, transnational corporation is more subordinate than country, the international operation of transnational corporation can not be away from the support of homeland. Secondly, its operation abroad must accord with the benefit of its motherland. The third, globalization operation and resource disposition make advantageous for its mother country. Finally, nationality property of transnational corporation shows clearly, can be easily to identify. With this relative, transnational corporation has also put forward challenge for country, especially state sovereignty, transnational corporation weakens political sovereignty and the economic sovereignty of country, lose cultural sovereignty, threaten national safety to some extent. In a word, transnational corporation is not a simple economic entity only, it becomes the "double-edged sword" for state sovereignty, forms challenge and threat. The third part has elaborated the role in different historical period. In the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, major capitalist country in the world entered monopoly stage. War and revolution are then times theme. The most monopoly groups are giant transnational corporations, the benefit of monopoly group with transnational corporation is interweaved tightly together. the conflict of transnational corporation's benefit often becomes one of the reasons for breaking out war. In south north relation, transnational corporation and developing country take the same role.
