Study On The Strategic Plan Of Urban Agglomeration In The Southern Sichuan

Today, in the period of high level economic development and high speed urbanization, the Urban Agglomeration will become the main form for the development of the cities in China. This paper, therefore, deeply researches the Urban Agglomeration in the Southern Sichuan and puts forward the strategies for its development, based on the theories and research methods of urban geography, regional economic geography, urban economics and development economics, and the new theories and practices concerning Urban Agglomeration both at home and abroad.This thesis is divided three parts including seven chapters to analyze the future space distribution of the economy in Southern Sichuan. The author mainly studies several key aspects as follows:1. This paper analyzed the essential conditions and the possibilities for the building of the Urban Agglomeration in the Southern Sichuan through the four relatively independent and separate cities. After comprehensive analysis on the space structure, the scale and grade, and the history as well as the present conditions of Zigong, Luzhou, Neijiang and Yibin cities, the author proved that it is necessary and possible for these cities to build an Urban Agglomeration in the Southern Sichuan.2. After the study and calculation on the four cities' convergences, diffusivities and their interactions, this paper ascertained the scope of Urban Agglomeration in the Region of Southern Sichuan.3. In order to put forward proper strategic plan for Southern Sichuan, the author analyzed its space structure, city scale and city grade.4. In this paper, the author discussed the different roles of the four key cities and the towns in that region.5. The process of economic integrity of the Urban Agglomeration in the Southern Sichuan was deeply analyzed. This paper designed the strategies of integrity including the space reorganization, communication construction, sustainable development, integrative urbanization and industry cooperation.6. This paper studied the roles of the government at the very beginning ofthe development of the Urban Agglomeration. After the discussion of the self-moving mechanism of Urban Agglomeration and the roles of government, the author brought forward pivotal measures for the building of coordination organization and coordination mechanism.
