Along with the rapid development of science and technology and the acceleration of the globalization, the competition among the enterprises is becoming fiercer. In this condition, many enterprises have begun to resurvey their operating mechanisms business processes and organization structures. How to integrate its business activities how to make these activities form a correlated value chain and implement the business processes according to this chain have become the most important issues for an enterprise. In the age of electronic commerce(EC), the enterprise should integrate the customer needs enterprise internal resources and supporter information into its overall value chain to forge its special competitive advantages. The enterprise needs new management mechanism which centers around the market needs. As a result, a new management mode-value chain management(VCM), which focuses on generating the long-term competition advantages, has come into being. Based on the research of value chain management, this article tries to discuss its development-e-value chain management(E- VCM).This thesis consists of five parts:Part 1 defines the value chain and e-value chain and analyzes the characteristics of both, and discusses the defects of the traditional value chain and expatiate the relationship between the traditional value chain and e-value chain.Part 2 defines value chain management(VCM) and e-value chain management (E-VCM) and analyzes the basic content and the strategic significance of E-VCM, and discusses the three systems of E-VCM: e-supply chain management, enterprise resources planning and e-customer relationship management.Part 3 analyzes the traditional theory of value descending and the new theory of value ascending and emphasizes the important strategic significance of E-VCM.Part 4 discusses the new business model in the new age and puts forward the strategic stages on the base of E-VCM ,and expatiates the operating strategies based on E-VCM.Part 5 analyzes two representative cases and provides references for the enterprises to implement e-value chain management.
