The Study On Efficiency Curve--the New Measurement Of Inequality In Size Distribution Of Income

Size distribution of income (by person or by household) has direct influence for economic growth, on one hand, keeping the size of distribution difference of income(DDI in short) appropriate and reasonable can make positive encourage effect and efficient resource configuration effect for economic increasing, thus, it stimulates and accelerates the speed of economic development, and forms the necessary economic foundation to improve the condition of income distribution; But on the other hand, huge DDI will make negative role to the development of economy and society, causes society to be upheaval, destroys stable solidarity, eventually harms economic steady and efficient increasing greatly.This paper focuses on the measurement of distribution of personal income.Firstly this article surveys the basic concept of distribution of personal income, makes comparing explanation and comprehensive evaluation on each measurement of DDI combining with the lately income distribution theory on macroeconomics;Secondly in reference the domestic and international development of income distribution and economic growth theory, this dissertation demonstrate that the economic growth should be the only critique to judge whether the DDI is reasonable or not replaced with single equity or efficiency principle by assaying the way, direction and the mechanism of effect that size distribution of income affects economic growth;The third, in virtue of statistical method and upon the above-mentioned study , this article builds up a new method-efficiency curve to estimate DDI which theorem is to set a structure of income distribution suitable for economic growing, and puts forward a new index named efficiency deviation degree to estimate the difference between efficiency curve and the actual layout of distribution income, so, the condition of personal income distribution of various countries or various places can be shown;At the same time, this paper carries out a practical analysis about the generally layout of DDI in our country utilizing the method of efficiency curve, analyses and evaluates the evolution about the situation of resident income distribution in China, which draws conclusions: the structure of income distribution is basically reasonable in the resent period of economic growth in our country, but, the general DDI is a littlebigger than that of other more countries in the similar period of economic growth, specially the difference of income distribution between town and country , different areas, different trades and the staff of different ownership company;Finally the dissertation puts forward some policy suggestions to improve the situation of personal income distribution in our country.
