Recent years, logistics considered as "third profit resource" has been developing rapidly. Lots of distribution centers of logistics were established to improve the efficiency of goods flow by large factories and commercial firms. However as the last part of logistics, the inefficient delivery of logistics has been more conspicuously extrusive. Especially with the entry of WTO, Chinese logistics will be impacted greatly. Therefore the core of logistics, building a competitive system of home-delivery, has caused extensive concern of domestic logistics scholars.Through elaborating on the knowledge of physical distribution, this paper studies how to establish spatial data base with GIS technology, which is determined by the system of physical distribution. Then this paper attempts to take locating distribution center and delivery routing as two core problems for further research. To solve locating distribution center problem, this paper puts forward a mixed method, by which we obtain a series of location candidates with the spatial technology of GIS on considering the geography factors of location, Then we build the 0-1 location model with the aim of minimize transportation cost. In the course of solving the model, we take account into the fluency of routing and use a method combining Clustering method with Greedy Dropping Heuristic Algorithm. At the end we testify the feasibility of model and algorithm with an example. On the delivery routing problem of physical distribution, this paper firstly puts forward a VRPTW model considering routing and time, which can be solved with the C-W Saving Heuristic Algorithm. Secondly we design concrete steps that how to combine vehicle route optimize model with GIS on the platform of Arc/Info in detail. Then we design the program of C-W Saving Heuristic Algorithm and simulate the VRP problem by giving an example. Lastly based on practicality and flexibility, and according to the kinds of delivery, primary design of the subsystem of physical distribution based on GIS is worked out in this paper.
