The retail business is the important component of a country's economy. the progress of the retail business is one of the important factors that bring about an advance in one country's economy. The retail business of our country has changed greatly and becomes one of the most thrive trade in recent years in addition it has finished the change of the retail business by the latter half of the 19th century in the west in short time since China set up the policy of opening and reform.. But because the government and enterprise study insufficiently in retailing the development trend of retailing type of operation . There exist many problems of importing foreign capital blindly, weak macro management, unreasonable retail business type in many cities in China. there are a lot of places urgently to be perfected in the theoretical research and practical operation of achievement state. This thesis attempts to descript the theory of retailing and the developing trend, combine the reality of our country, analyze and study different kinds of orbits and development trends of retailing type of operation in our country, make us have a clear understanding on it , which will make the retail business better develop in China under the new situation of joining WTO and opening to the outside world of retail market.This thesis is divided into four chapters. the first chapter recommend retail business and the definition of retail on the basis of classification criteria of our country and some local places .At first, from site selecting , goal customer , single shop scale, deal in method of service , goods combining structure ,etc.I suppose that the main retail type of operation of our country should be divided into 8 kinds. Supermarket , Department store , Speciality store ,Exclusive shop, Convenience store , Warehouse ,GMS , Shopping center. Then I research characteristics and differentiation of these eight kind of retailing type of operation. Also I have studied its develop course at home and in world ,and introduce six kinds of retail theories of western, then pointed out the enlightenment meaning of the progress to our country. Analysed finally the main factor that influences development of a retailing type of operation: The changes in demand. seeking the competition advantage , economic development level ,In chapter two, at first I recommend three revolutions and no-shop retail which belong to the fourth revolution in the retail type of operation of western developed country to make us have a clear understanding to the international development of retail business, and to the stage that our country live in. Then I summarize three period of stage in progress of retailing formats of our country. At last, I analyse the 3 characteristics and reasons. In the progress of our countries retail which different from that of the West In chapter three, it is predict retail the development trend in the future of retail formats of our country on the base of the first two chapters theory survey and course review. This chapter contents is divided into two parts. First part hold from macroscopic to predict main trend of development of retailing formats in the following several years:1, Foreign capitals retail business quicken the steps of expanding, Chinese and foreign retailer compete each other 2, retailer appear to run low profit .3, If retail enterprise competed in a low-level ,then after they " rides on a horse to enclose places " at full speed there will be a new round go bankrupt. To prove this trend , I set up a model to indicate the enterprise to expand and shrunk rapidly on accumulate fund scale , profit , profit rate and total profit,.
