At present, motorcycle is in an immensely competitive market. It shows a tendency towards individuality. The life cycle of each variety is further shortened. In this case, it is needed to construct a system of product innovation to lead the exploration of new products, and then to standardize the exploration, so as to improve the competitiveness of motorcycle industry.This paper has checked into the status quo on the new product exploration of JIALING-HONDA Engines Company. On the basis of survey and analysis, I have worked out the system of product innovation and the flow models of business. In order to develop this system, I have emphatically studied the planning, the technological development and the basic principle as well as operation methods during the producing and selling process for the new products. And I finally reduced the process of product innovation to 6 points: planning, organizing, managing, forecasting, evaluating and policy making, which have settled the problem of disjointedness between marketing and technological development. Furthermore, this paper has discussed in detail pertaining to the discontinuance models of product innovation.The study of product innovation has combined theory with practice, providing an application model for our company. This can also be used as a directory on product innovation for motorcycle industry.
