As the globalization of economic process accelerates, business competition is becoming more and more intense. Confronted with the inconstant market competition, weaknesses in business management are exposed. Among them, product innovation is the most outstanding issue. To respond promptly to the caprice of global market, a new pattern of product innovation characterized by multi-model, short-cycle must be formed.Aimed at above issues, the thesis deals with the decision-making and execution process of product innovation. Beginning with the clarification of the significance of product innovation to business survival, the thesis discusses the functions and planning process of innovation strategy. Based on the analysis of innovation process, limitations of the traditional product innovation pattern are revealed, a new network pattern of product innovation is presented, in which decisions are made by the direction of market, activities center around customers and focus on knowledge essence and supported by information technology and managed in a humanized way. Features, mechanism and establishment of the network pattern are elaborated in the thesis. A PDM solution is presented to solve thekey technical barrier_product information management in the network pattern. For theissues of organization and management in the network pattern, the thesis analyses the restrictions of the traditional organization structure, discusses the ways in which organizational structure, human resource and product innovation are integrated effectively, presents the views of establishing a multi-functional dynamic innovation team and implementing project management. At the end, based on retrospection of product innovation history, prospect of product innovation is presented. As a case, the practice of product innovation in EVERSEF Precision industry (Tianjin) Ltd is given to demonstrate the urgency and feasibility of the transformation from the old pattern to the new one.In the view of development, the thesis analyses the issues and insurmountable limitations existed in the traditional pattern, guided by modern management theory and combined with practice, the thesis presents a new network pattern, which will benefit the exploration of product innovation both in theory and practice.
