Analysis Of Competitive Ability Of Current Joint Venture

Since the policy of reform and opening to the outside world was carried out, joint ventures have been playing a very important role in Chinese economy, promoting the development of our national and local economy. However, with China' entry into the WTO, joint ventures are threatened by fierce competition in the international and domestic markets and import of advanced technology, equipment and capital from abroad. This situation requires joint ventures to be more competitive, which is the subject studied in the present thesis.Here, a case study has been adopted, in which data have been collected, concerning the present situation of the Sino-American joint venture Shuguang Petrolium Drill Rod Company Ltd., and a comprehensive research has been conducted from the perspectives of market demand and management strategies.PEST analysiss, FIVE FORCE analysis and SWOT analysis have been applied to the investigation of Shuguang's marketing strategies, competitive and profit-deriving abilities, and finding out its advantages and disavantages, opportunities and challenges. On this baisis, a series of measures have been put forward for the joint venture to introduce innovations, establish and maintain its competitive advantages, and seek further development.
