Study On The Residential Areas Development In Chongqing Suburbs Based On Urbanization

The construction and development of suburban areas is one of the most important parts in the studies of urban planning. With the accelerating of urbanization and the rapid progress of economics, it is a new stage for the rapid construction and development of suburban areas, which provides a new opportunity for real estate development at the same time. At present, sub-urbanization in Chongqing begins, and the General Planning of Urban Areas in Chongqing, which is carried out this year, takes 11 suburban groups into urban areas, and they will be the most important areas for the development of residential quarters. Urbanization promotes the construction of suburban residential quarters, and they will promote urbanization in turn. However, there are a series of problems, which should not be neglected, with the accelerating development of suburban areas, such as the backward traffic and facilities, special segregation of residential quarters, difficulty in the rebuilt of old areas, and the incoordination and so on, all these restrain the development of residential quarters in suburban areas in Chongqing. One of reasons leading to these problems is the lack of the guide of relative theories and practical studies. There are little studies on the development of residential quarters in suburban areas in China as well as in Chongqing. Therefore, it is important and significant in theory and in practice to research on the construction and development of residential quarters in suburban areas in Chongqing.In this dissertation, the forth part (2nd to fourth sections) discusses relative theories in China and foreign countries; for example, systematical analysis to the correlation between urbanization and the construction of residential quarters in suburban areas, successful experiences and develop modes for the construction of residential quarters in suburban areas are introduced in the fourth section. The latter part studies the development of residential quarters in suburban areas in Chongqing. After the analysis to the present situations and potentials of residential quarters in suburban areas in Chongqing, relative countermeasures are discussed from the anglesof government and developers based on the characteristics of Chongqing; finally, the development mode, "originality with modernity", are brought forward for the development of residential quarters in suburban areas in Chongqing.
