The virtual operation theory has its foundation on theories of core competitive ability and supply chain management. In a more competitive global environment, more and more enterprises come to realize that with their own limited resources and efforts, they can't surpass their competitors in related scopes; the truth of competition is that happens between supply chains, enterprises should concentrate on the development of the core business ability with their limited resources and conform it with the quality resources on the supply chain.House decoration industry sees high-speed growth in 2000. In the past three years, many new businesses entered into this market for its large sales volumes and low entry barrier. Many house decoration companies adopt virtual operation in their ongoing business works, however, in unconscious ways, still none of them exert virtual operation theory to provide guidance to business practices. My thesis studies the case of BEIJING DONGYIRISHENG DECORATION CO., the well-known house decoration company in China, in the expectation of tailing after the development course of the industry and bringing forward the strategic thinking and methodology about virtual operation in the industry. This essay expatiates on the construction process of a virtual enterprise, and accentuates the importance of timing and celerity of the construction rather than the optimal virtual combination at the expense of more time.I hope readers may use the case study for their own reference, and find it helpful in their daily operation.
