With the sustainable and steady development of Chinese economy, theliving standard of Chinese people has improved a lot. More and more peoplecan afford to buy automobiles. The auto's consumers market has never been soprosperous. As a major part of automobile market, the light vehicle market increasesso fast, only slower than the car market. It is an important market that manyautomobile manufacturers are seeking for. Low production intensity and fiercemarket competition are the present two main problems for the light vehicleindustry. Jiangling Motors Company (JMC) comes from a small losing state-ownedfactory, but now it has been one of the major automobile companies in Chinaand one of the 520 large company groups supported by Chinese government.In 2003, JMC ranked 4th in the light vehicle industry by production and sales. This report describes the case of JMC; brings forward the presentproblems JMC is confronted with; analyzes the market competing status andadvantage of JMC; gives suggestions to JMC's market competing strategy. There are four chapters in this report. The first chapter introduces JMC;the second chapter introduces the situation of Chinese automobile industry;the third chapter introduces the Chinese light vehicle industry; the last chapterfocuses on the analysis of JMC's developing situation.
