Qu Qiubai put forward a series of understanding and viewpoints on the peasant problem quite early. However, up to now, there have been very few analysis and arguments on Qu's characteristics of his understanding on the problem and the ideological source in the academic circle. An exploration on this situation is put forward in the thesis.First of all, through the arrangement of Qu's understanding and viewpoints on the peasant problem are disclosed in the thesis. Conclusion arrived at are as follows:He clearly put forward the argument that "the center of China's revolution is the revolution of peasants, and he definitely affirmed the special position and role of peasants in China's revolution. Secondly, he realized the importance of the peasant problem from the height of the proletarian fighting for leadership with the bourgeois. He pointed out that "peasants cannot represent themselves;" and the key to the proletarian realizing the leadership was the peasant problem. Clearly, Qu realized the close relationship between solving the peasant problem and the proletarian's fighting for the leadership of the revolution. Based on this, he further put forward the argument that the joint action (the united front) with national bourgeois "should take not damaging the work among peasants as the limit." He took solving peasant problems as the center in handling relationships with other classes (for example, the national bourgeois), and thus he grasped the essence and the central problem of the democratic revolution. Based on a sober understanding of peasants' position and role, Qu put forward concrete measures for solving peasant problems. He proposed that in China's revolution, "the land revolution should be considered as the center," "it is necessary to arm peasants and to organize peasants' self-defending corps," and "peasants participated in the political power and the political power in the country should belong to peasants." He preliminarily integrated the land revolution, armed struggle and peasants' political power together. Next, an exploration on the ideological source of Qu's understanding of the peasant problem is made in the thesis. The thesis assumes that there are two aspects in his ideological source. On the one hand, the Communist International had a great influence on Qu's understanding of the peasant problem, and the influence degree and action was not the same in various stages of the Great Revolution. On the other hand, basically speaking, Qu's understanding of the peasant problem is rooted in the practice of China's revolution. And in the later period of the Great Revolution, especially on the basis of the practice of the peasant movement led by Peng Pai and Mao Zedong, his understanding achieved a comprehensive development and he had more independent thinking.
