The Interdependence Mechanism Between Industrialization And Urbanization

Industrialization and urbanization are structural reform processes that are confronted with every country in economy development, which are symbols of economic development level. Industrialization necessarily cause urbanization's evolution; on the contrary, urbanization shall hasten the advancement of industrialization. There is certain transmit mechanism between them to form their interdependence 's relationship. The author based herself upon the differentiate and analysis to previous research work,and strives to obtain new research on the integration of the theory of economic development and the urbanization theory, so she analyses the mechanism of interdependence between industrialization and urbanization from the point view of industrial structure and economy of agglomeration. The thesis thinks that the industry revolution results from the advancement of technology, and the start-up and accomplishment of the industry revolution result in the start-up and development of industrialization. In the process of industrialization, the changes of industrial structure and labor force structure induce various elements' (capital; labor force; nature resources ect.) flowage and transfer from agriculture to non-agriculture, from rural zone to urban zone, and urbanization takes place thereby. On the other hand, economy of agglomeration is the primary content of urbanization, and it consists of three aspects: the economy of agglomeration in firm; localization economies; urbanization economies. They all can bring on the saving of cost and expenditure of firm to increase its return, therefore accelerate the advancement of industrialization. In the course of positive analysis, the thesis analyses the quantity relationship and the interdependence relationship between China's industrialization and urbanization, and it points out that urbanization has the linearity relationship with non-rural employment proportion and the logarithm relationship with the average GDP, but hasn't obvious relevant relationship with industry production proportion. Before the reform and opening-up, industrialization and urbanization are entirely under the control of government, so the mechanism of interdependence between industrialization and urbanization doesn't come into being. After the reform and opening-up, the dual-mechanism of interdependence between them has newly established. But there are some problems at the present time, the thesis analyses the primary problems in existence and puts forward methods and measures aiming to them.
