Analysis And Design Of The Knowledge Management System For FAW-VW

With intensive economic globalization and the transfer of human society tosciential economic society, competition environment of Chinese auto market isbecoming more and more complicated and changeful. The local auto industry isnow not only faced with intensive competition from inside and outside but alsoconfronted with challenges of new technology and new productivity mode. Theimprovement of capital operation and management efficiency provides one ofthe essential foundations to ensure that automotive companies developpersistently and become more competitive. The application of KnowledgeManagement System (KMS) can not only improve the management leveleffectively and competitive ability of a company as well as work efficiency andinnovation of stuff, but also reduce production and management costs furthestand meet more and more individual requirements of final users. Therefore, howto build up and operate a sound KMS becomes a noticeable topic for all automanufacturers. However, FAW-VW is lack of a high efficient KMS and dosen't payenough attention to the value of knowledge capital. As a result, there are somemanagement problems such as recessive existence of a lot of information,isolated "knowledge islands", inefficiency of knowledge system, lowcompetence of employees as well as supervisors to deal with information andincomplete info-platform, which must be resolved immediately. This thesis suggests that an integrated KMS should be established inFAW-VW. The function of this system should achieve some administrationobjects such as knowledgeable intelligence capital management, professionalorganizing design management, integrative enterprise resource plan, cooperativeaccommodation chain management, international clients relation management,innovative Research & Development (R & D) management, competitive humanresource management, and confluent enterprise culture construction and so on. In order to achieve these administration objects the KMS of FAW-VW ishould realize the technology objects including some information share that canachieve some functions such as information browse, information copy, dataanalysis, information query and coordination work that has the functions such asdiscussion online, e-mail, information communication and the control of workprocess, and connecting with database seamlessly and other application systems. In terms of above-mentioned objects of enterprise administration andsystem technology, in order to enhance system efficiency, the KMS of FAW-VWshould also have several utilization characters such as entrance web-site ofindividuated KMS, All-In-One enterprise information management, entranceweb-site of the easiest KMS, the safest security right control, strong documentsearching function, document management's automatization, knowledgecirculation's intelligentization, compatibility, stability, extensive ability ofdocument management and system maintenance management that has lots offunctions and can be operated easily. According to the system design objects, this thesis designs the KMSconstruction, that is composed of expression layer, application module layer,function module layer and data saving layer from above to below. The mainbody of the expression layer is enterprise knowledge entrance. By setting it upwe can realize integration among every system including communication amonginformation and knowledge of every system by information entrance in aconsistent way; by customizing interface technology we can realize individuatedservice according to departments or even employees; by application integrationwe can resolve the system related problems through all kinds of applicationsystems with unified entrance, interface and user account.
