With the quickly development of the information technology, the old enterpriseinformation system is becoming more complex and disordered. The enterprises needmore investment in cost and time in order to maintain the old information system tooperate normally. Due to the complex working patterns and the enlarging organizationallevels and scopes with the demand on operations as well as the freedom andinternationalization of the market economy and the shorten of the product life cycleusually make the business environments of the enterprises changed and lead to thecontradiction among different departments of the enterprise. The enterprise resourceplanning system can provide an integrity database, which can deal with thedecentralizing data distributing at the different areas. The ERP system can keepco-operations among the enterprises with the supply chain such that the enterprises canreact from the needs of market and customers. This dissertation will discuss the key factors that will impact the implementation ofERP in the middle-small enterprises, according to the problems appearing in the processof ERP implementation at company A. The issues of ERP implementation in themiddle-small enterprises will be presented. Firstly, this dissertation will introduce the relational theory about ERP and BPR.The history and the development of ERP, as well as the relationship between ERP andBPR are also discussed. This dissertation will discuss the reasons to implement ERPsystems as well as the effect and the contradiction of ERP systems, get the key factorsinfluencing the enterprises to implement ERP successfully from the three aspects suchas enterprises, software providers and consultants. Secondly, the current issues of company A will be analyzed and diagnosed.Company A's organizational model is reengineered. According to the actual instance ofERP implementation in company A, the real problems and good ideas will be disposed.At the same time, the issues will be analyzed, and then the solution will be presented indetail. Finally, by the virtue of the actual experience about ERP implementation in themiddle-small enterprises, something that must be regarded in the ERP implementation isgiven so as to improve the success percent of the ERP implementation in themiddle-small enterprises of China.
