In the contemporary enterprises, compensation is one of the core businesses in human resource management. Many first-class enterprises choose reasonable compensation system as their basis of success. Since Hunan Univic Petroleum Ltd. comes from state-owned enterprise, the old compensation system is not fit for contemporary enterprises management. It is necessary for us to study the compensation mode in it, so we can improve the compensation system and incentive the employees for the enterprise' development.The author expatiates on the theory about compensation management at first and acquires some useful guidelines from first-rank scholars. Secondly, the author analyses the state of Hunan Univic Petroleum Ltd. In that part, we find out the cause of the formation of the existing compensation system. Then we use concerned theories to diagnose the existing system and research why the enterprises cannot incentive the employees efficiently. Thirdly, for the purpose of sustaining the actualization of strategies and meeting the demand of the employees, the author puts forward some possible compensation policies through analyses of the enterprise's competition environments, and investigates the compensation inclination of the employees. Finally, the thesis gives a practical compensation system according to the fact of the enterprise and the before-mentioned analysis. At the same time, the author also gives some suggestions about the problems that may be met in the practice of the system.
